I Just Went Crazy On This Little Table!

Before I talk about my table I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Boston that were injured or lost loved ones. I also pray that our Lord would help our police officials quickly find the person who perpetrated this awful crime.

This table was featured on The Graphic's Fairy. Thank you Karen.  If you would like to see more detailed instructions on decoupaging with tissue paper please go to this post.  Thank you for visiting. I'm so glad you stopped by.

Today I'm sharing a cute little table I recently finished.

I'm sorry for the awful pictures. I can't find my camera and used my cell phone.

After giving it a very sloppy coat of primer I painted it with a pretty, designer, green latex.

The top of this little table had been damaged and a relative didn't think it could be used but I assured her I could make it pretty.

If your wondering why I painted the primer on so sloppily I do so to make the finished product look more vintage and worn.  As you add more color and distress the layers show through as if it has been painted many times over the years.  By the way, this was a dark, stained table.

Lol! I just realized I should have turned the table 90 degrees to the left for the image to be at the front. Oh well.  Anyhoo, after painting it green and allowing it to dry I applied an image and crackle medium. Afterwards, when I applied the stain, it looked horrible! I'm sorry I don't have pictures of this to show you, but it looked like it had some kind of disease!

I didn't panic I just sanded some of the crackle and images off and painted it with ASCP in Pure White. Once that was dry I applied a tissue paper image of a bird from the Graphics Fairy.

When it dried the crackle had came through in areas! Yeah! I then gave it a wash with a pale, pink latex. Yes latex.

The latex will shrink, and kind of draw up on top of the chalk paint.  I then added some silver gilt around the top and on areas of the legs. I used a stamp and a dye, almost the same color as in the graphic, in blue, for the corners. When dry I distressed it with 60 grit sandpaper around edges.

I then gave it two coats of clear, soft, wax. Ta-da! What do you think. I love it.

I have more pretties coming soon.  Don't forget about Transformed Tuesday starting later tonight. Be sure to come back and link up!

Have a wonderful week!
