Hello everyone I hope you are having a great week. I thought I would share a quick craft project I completed today.
I had this corsage that I received for Mother’s Day from my sweet daughter and I wanted to keep it, but I didn’t want to just lay it on a table or stick it in a drawer I wanted someway to enjoy it. So I dried it out by simply leaving it in the refrigerator until it was dry.
After that I was at a loss of how to use it until the other day when I thought why not make an ornament out of it for my girly Christmas tree!
So I picked out one of my hymnal pages and made a paper cone. I then stuffed a little white tissue paper in it to reinforce it and fill it in a little.
Next I removed the ribbon and a leaf or two from the bottom of the corsage and glued it onto the inside back of the cone.
I then glued the ribbon from the bow I had removed from the bottom of the corsage around the top edges of the cone and tied it in a double bow in front.
Looking back (you know hindsight is 20/20) I should have done the next step before gluing the ribbon on. I took a hole punch and punched a hole in the top back of the cone and then put those little round label re-enforcers we used in school around the hole one on each side.
I then tied a silver thread through it for a hanger and this is my finished ornament.
I’m very pleased with how my ornament turned out and hope I have inspired you to save your next corsage and use it as part of one of your projects. It was so easy and it only took about ten minutes to make it! I’ll be savoring my special memory every time I put it on my tree in the years to come.
I have another ornament I will be sharing with you soon and that coffee table is almost finished so be looking for a before and after post in the next day or two.
