Hello everyone! I have really been missing visiting with all of you and hope you are all well.
I'm not doing as many furniture pieces as I once was since I closed my booth at Kings Antiques in Shreveport, but I still do an occasional piece and sell it on-line.
This dresser I've had for a long time and it was much too plain for my taste. Yes, it is an antique ca. 1910, and yes, I painted it.
It had some veneer damage and I decided not to restore it because, to be honest, it just wouldn't sell.

I hope you like it. I certainly had fun painting it.
I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures as I accidentally left my good camera out in the rain and had to take these with my I-Pad.
Here is the before picture. Quite a difference huh. :-)
The mirror tilts but was very plain so I added some wood appliques.
I painted it in Annie Sloan's " Duck Egg Blue" then added the lace with an off white.
On the top, just for fun, I added a period image of a lovely lady from my vintage, image collection.
The drawers are painted with "Antoinette Pink" for a nice surprise. And the top two have a crown image.
As you probably noticed the top two drawers have small, cut crystal-like pulls and the bottom two drawers have large, porcelain, white floral pulls.
To finish the dresser I distressed it and then gave it a tea stain using a light colored stain, and lastly two coats of wax.
Its has been so good to visit with all my bloggy friends. I hope you like this piece and I hope you are having a wonderful summer.
Please keep in touch.
Hugs,
