A End Table Redo For Dee

Hey everyone Google Friend Connect will be going away soon please follow me on Networked Blogs or Linky Followers as I don't want to loose any of the best followers ever!! Peggy

Hi, how are ya’ll?  Doing well I hope.  I recently picked up an end table and chest of drawers at a garage sale and I am re-furbishing them for my granddaughter, Deanna.

When I finished the end table I had to stop and share it with all of you as it turned out so cute.  Here’s the finished product.

My granddaughter, we call her Dee Dee, is in the process of remodeling her room in black, white, and a deep mauve which seems to be a fairly popular color combination.

Dee loves pageants, big hair, and lots and lots of bling she is a true southern young lady. lol
She is now ten and still easy to please even though she is already acting like a teenager.  Here are some recent pictures.

Dee is a lovely, Christian, girl who is truly beautiful from the inside out and we are so proud of her.  I, of course, as Nonnie spoil her rotten every chance I get.

Okay, back to the end table I had to add some bling for Dee!  I found some scrapbook paper with French typography and decoupaged it on the top of the table and on the top drawer.  I then went to the Graphics Fairy and found a crown for my little beauty queen (she's won several beauty pageants not bragging just saying) and an ornate D.  Here’s how it looked after I applied all the layers.

It looked okay but needed a little something more.  So I added some jewels, and German glass glitter.

Of course with all that bling Dee loved it and can’t wait to get it in her room.

I painted the inside and outside of the drawers in that deep mauve.  I’m not quite finished as I still need to wax and distress it a little, but I just could not wait to share it with you. I hope you like it as much as Dee Dee does.

The chest is next and I have a few other pieces in the works and will be sharing with you soon.

  9. First of all, your granddaughter is TRULY beautiful. Stunning in fact! Tell her to ditch that make-up and celebrate her natural beauty. My mom always told me that when I was plucking my eyebrows or something and only now am I understanding what she meant. (Unfortunately, the beauty of my youth is long gone.)
I cacked up when I saw this dresser;it's the second one on blogland that is exactly like one I painted last year: shabby chic, distressed creamy. A friend picked it for me from their neighbors' trash and it went directly into a little spare bedroom I was redoing. Of course, this on looks way fancier, as is only fitting for a little princess! What's the provenance of yours?I love your blog, btw.

  11. Hi TD firstly thank you so much for the compliment about my granddaughter. She doesn't wear makeup except for the beauty pageants and I'm like you I think she is much prettier with out the makeup. On the dresser and end table I picked them up at a friend's garage sale and she bought them new for her daughter's room and was redecorating. So glad you came by to visit and hope you'll come back soon.
